Tuition & Financial Aid
A Birchwood degree is worth it. And we can help you pay for it.
Our financial aid program is one of the best out there. It supports students in all kinds of ways, whatever their background—with grants, scholarships, low-interest loans, and more. And it’s worth it.
Studying at Birchwood University is an incredible experience on its own—and our top-notch learning methodology put you on a fast track toward a truly rewarding career.
You belong here. So we'll help you get here.
You should apply for financial aid, even if you don’t think you qualify. Because there are many options out there, we want to ensure our students get every penny they deserve.
Types of Financing Options
Financial aid packages often include several components. Here's a quick introduction to the kinds of support we offer and the financing options available to you.
Grants and Scholarships
All financial aid from Birchwood comes in the form of grants from the college. These grants do not need to be repaid.
Birchwood’s Book Grant covers the full cost of all required textbooks and course materials for every aided student...no matter which classes you take.
If you receive outside scholarships (from community organizations, national competitions, etc.), they can be used to purchase a new computer. After that, any leftover amount will be applied to reduce your Birchwood grants.
.
Student Loans
Birchwood students are not asked to take out loans as part of our financial aid program. All students have the opportunity to borrow as a financing option, but loans will never be packaged in your financial aid award from Birchwood.
.
Student Jobs
Birchwood is the only college in the country that does not expect students to work on campus or during the summer as part of their financial aid award. Students still have the choice to work and campus job opportunities are plentiful, but we encourage every student to find the dynamic that works best for them
.
Payment Plans
The Birchwood Payment Plan allows families to spread payments over four or five equal monthly installments with zero interest, instead of twice a year before the start of each term. For more information connect with our admissions team.
.
Parent Loans
The federal PLUS Loan can help your family pay educational expenses not covered by other forms of financial aid, with a fixed interest rate and flexible loan limits. The repayment period can be up to 10 years after you’ve received the full loan amount.
The PLUS Loan program is available to parents (including step-parents) who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
.
Financial Aid Information for International Students
The Financial Aid Office at Birchwood University uses the results of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine a student’s eligibility for financial assistance. Students must be U.S. Citizens or Eligible Non-Citizens to be considered for financial aid through the FAFSA, therefore the Financial Aid office does not award financial aid to international students.
Scholarships, Assistantships, and other financial aid may be available to international students through the Office of Graduate Admissions. Students can only receive financial aid for classes that count toward their degree, certificate, or other recognized credential. Please contact the applicable admissions office below for more information on financial aid for international students
